Tufts Medical Center offers American Heart Association (AHA) and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) certification and recertification courses throughout the year for employees whose job requires:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Eligibility: Classes are offered to Tufts Medicine Employees, Travelers, and Contractors. Staff not required to have a certification to perform their job may be placed on a waiting list pending confirmation up until the day of the class.
Cost: Cost is covered for Tufts Medicine employees for courses offered on-site. The cost of these certifications is not covered for Travelers and Contractors.
Attendance: A 24 hour notice is needed if unable to attend a class. NO SHOWs will be placed on a waiting list when rescheduling on-site. NO SHOWs will not be reimbursed for the same certification taken off-site. To cancel, reschedule, or be added to a waiting list, please email us with a date and time.
Upcoming Classes: We will be adding more classes throughout the year, but if an external class is needed, pre-approval must be requested. Please email us with the date, time, and training site information.
External Course: Our pre-approval is needed for courses offered off-site including ACLS Academy, CPR World, Red Cross, or others. We do NOT accept 100% online certifications. If taken off-site, the course must offer a hands-on skills training on an instrumented directive feedback device or manikin. Offering 100% online certifications (which we do NOT accept) are: ACLS Medical Training, Advanced Certification Institute, American Academy of CPR and First Aid, American Health Care Academy, American Health Training, eMedCert, Enjoy CPR Safey Institute, International CPR Institute, National CPR Foundation, ProCPR, ProMed,...
Reimbursement: For Tufts Medical Center Nursing Staff requesting reimbursement for an external course, the reimbursement form below must be submitted prior to certification start date. Please do not offer payment until you've received a pre-approval email from the Robin and David Jaye Center of Nursing Excellence.
